Thought of the Day-April 30th, 2009

Intervention
This morning my co-workers had an intervention with me regarding my medication. So let me tell you the background on the matter. I went to the doctor last Tuesday and was given four new medications to start. On Wednesday or Thursday of last week I started taking the medication and have been ill since then. I talked to the doctor on yesterday and was given a choice of two and a half more days of being sick or stopping the medication. So all of you who knows me, knows that I stopped taking the medication last night.
I am on a med accountability program with a co-worker to ensure I am taking my meds, but it was not he that chose to have the intervention this morning. It's hard to justify to seven folks why you aren't taking something any longer. They basically said we have dealt with you being sick for over a week now, what is a couple more days. Especially seeing what the alternatives would be, they so clearly pointed out. I could stop now, and have more invasive tests done if my condition continued which would be worse, or more of the same medication. Neither is what I am wanting, so to avoid any further poking and prodding, I have chosen to continue my medication.
God intervenes in our lives, in my life daily. He provides protection, provision, direction and so much more.
God is my comforter, he protects me from myself and from others, He gives provision in so many areas of my life it is like the breath I breathe, a necessary part of me. He directs my paths and corrects my ways. I allow, welcome, receive the intervention of the Lord.
What areas of your life are you allowing, welcoming, receiving God's intervention?
Talk back and let me know what is going on with you,,,,

Thought of the Day-April 29th, 2009

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Friends, daughters of Eve and sons of Adam, we must pray continually. In order to be at peace with all men, we must pray and seek the Lord, we must pursue peace. We must be peacemakers. We must hate the sin, but love the sinner.

There are some among us that are not at peace with themselves, nor at peace with God. In your quiet time today with the Father check in and see where you stand. Is he moving you toward being at peace with someone, with himself? Take a look into those areas where God has not been invited in, but sees all. Remember he is the Alpha and the Omega.

If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him a drink. We all know people that are hungry for a word from God, who are dying of thirst.

Do your part as a Disciple, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Thought of the Day-April 28th, 2009

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have minds set on what the Spirit desires…You are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you” (Romans 8).

Who is controlling you? What is controlling you today? Are you living by the spirit or are you dying by the tongue? Life and death is spoken in our tongue.

God brings conviction to us, but not condemnation. Conviction in that he convinces us with his word, with his truth that we are sinners, that we must turn from our behavior. Condemnation is more of a blaming, God does not blame us, but God convicts our hearts, which moves us to change, to action.

God desires us to live by the Spirit. In living by the Spirit we can be more mindful of what we say and what we do. We model for others in our actions and in our talk. If we are living in the Spirit we are modeling Christ-like behavior.

So I ask you again who is controlling you? Challenge yourself this week to model the Spirit in talk and in action. When you get ready to speak, count to five in silence, pause, then speak. Take your time and be more conscious of what you do and what you say.

Remember, You are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit,
if the Spirit of God lives in you”

Thought of the Day-April 27th, 2009

I apologize for the late post, we both went to Dentist this morning...

For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.”

I would like to focus this day on the last part, on seek peace, to pursue peace. In order to have peace with god, with mankind we must pursue peace.

Over the weekend so many things transpired in my life and the life of my family. Our peace was limited, our tongues were tested. When an individual is tested things can go one of two ways. I am glad to say that in the end God was glorified. It took a minute to get to that point, a lot of frustration, a lot of terrible tongue, a lot of repentance.

Today all involved, at least the mature at heart know that we must pursue peace with everyone. Thus providing peace with ourselves and most importantly peace with God.

It is very hard not to judge, to not point fingers. But once you pursue peace, take your eyes off the situation and look toward the Father, everything is a lot clearer.

Thought of the Day-April 24th, 2009

Trouble is not always trouble!
It is often God's way of making us lie down,
turn around, sit still, pray, work harder, or start over again.
(Robert Schuller)
So what is going on in your life this week? What life changing moments are you having? Is there illness in your body causing you to lie down? Is that illness showing you anything?
I know when I was having the pain in my knee earlier this week, a lot of things came to mind. I hadn't injured it in any way, but yet I was having great pain. Was it my stepping down on it wrong or was it a sign of days to come. I'd like to think that it was a sign of things to come if I did not/choose not to move more. So as I was riding my bike last night through the neighborhood, I was quite childlike and playful. I was proud of myself that it only took me a day to decide that yes I must move more. Some times/Most times God uses an illness or condition for his good, to teach us something that is priceless. At least that is what he does in my life, he uses those rough spaces to show me his glory, so that I might learn something new, something that will change my life for the better. Don't get me wrong I take no illness lightly, but I have to find the good in all things. It is in finding that good that I find Peace-Hope-Faith-and Strength for my journey.
So if you know me at all you know there is plenty to say about other opportunities to turn around, sit still, pray, work harder and/or to start again. I am sure as we continue to be on this journey together you will have opportunities to see how God works in these other areas to teach and train me.
I'd like to hear from you today, share your moment when God reached into your mess and showed you once again who he is. Leave me a comment and let me know how you feel.
Are we on target or are we missing the mark with this thought?

Thought of the Day-April 23rd, 2009

Ephesians 5:19-21
19)Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20)always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21)Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

This passage reminds me and is confirmation that the Words of my mouth the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight or Lord, my Rock my redeemer..

The tongue can lead us to a path of destruction or it can speak words of life.

Let us speak words of love and life to one another today. Awake tomorrow in the right frame of mind and continue to show love to one another.

Our Father, show us your ways, help us to live our lives as examples of Christ and not reminders of the bad fruit. Help us to encourage and lift up others in a way that gives you glory, honor and praise. Amen

I thank you Father for this blog, for the expansion of my territory...

Much Love and Happiness
