Thought of the Day-11/16/2009

Today's Word is:
Grateful
1. warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful:

Grateful is a song we sing at church. A song that uses the word grateful over, and over and over, with the levels of gratefulness increasing. In this season of gratefulness and of giving thanks, how can one not consider all the trauma in the media.

Locally a deer hunter was shot on accident by a close friend, children go missing each and every day, Parents leave the country with their children while leaving the other parent void for those children. A woman attacked by an animal is now missing a face and limbs.

I am unhappy about the weather in Missouri, but have lived here for 37 years. I struggle to get out of bed in the morning, because morning is not my favorite time. I stress over having functions at our house, because people don't have the same boundaries as My husband and myself.

Everything that comes to mind that I can mention are insignificant, or things that if I wanted too I have the power to change. The tragedies in the media affect how I feel about the world around me, I am grateful and will be thankful.

Thankful and grateful that I have eyes to see. Thankful and grateful that I woke up this morning. Thankful and grateful that my days are not consumed with self.

It is my desire to be more like Christ. To look around and see opportunities to serve and not be served. Though I am not 100% of what I can be, I am grateful about who I am.
